Diversity in Business presented by ExxonMobil

BRAC's annual Diversity in Business event returns May 7 featuring Mary Stagman, Senior Inclusion Advisor of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber and Darrin Redus, Vice President of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's Minority Business Accelerator.

Executive teams of Baton Rouge Area companies are encouraged to attend this event. The presentation "Modeling a Community for Inclusion" will cover:

Strategies to implement a regional diversity initiative
Diversifying, growing, and retaining the workforce for the future
Impacting job and wealth creation in underserved communities

BRAC will bestow a Diversity Star Award to a regional business that has championed diversity and inclusion at their business or in the community.

About the speakers:

Mary Stagaman

Mary Stagaman is senior inclusion advisor for the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. In that role, she is responsible for bringing to life the chamber’s strategic directive to “model inclusion in everything we do.” In addition, Mary has engaged hundreds of companies and non-profit organizations in Diverse by Design, a regional initiative to diversify, grow and retain the workforce of the future. Diverse by Design programs include CONNECT, a regional network of affinity groups aimed at higher retention of diverse talent, and Building Cultural Competence: A Program for Leaders, launched in 2017. For her leadership and commitment to diversity and inclusion, Mary has been honored by the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission, the Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Ohio Commission on Hispanic Latino Affairs.

Darrin Redus

Darrin M. Redus Sr., a national thought leader and practitioner in inclusion-based entrepreneurship and economic development, is Vice President of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s nationally recognized Minority Business Accelerator. The Accelerator supports the development of large scale African American & Hispanic firms through a series of partnerships with major corporations and broader growth initiatives to disproportionately impact job and wealth creation in underserved communities.

Darrin holds an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College, and over the past 25 years has led numerous national workshops, seminars and business forums on matters of economic development, entrepreneurship and inclusion. Darrin now reaches millions of readers through such efforts as blogging for Huffington Post, Living Cities and a host of other national and international media communications.
