Small business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to join BRAC for its Small Business Series. The series provides information and training to small business owners to help them sustain and grow their companies.

BRAC's Small Business Series: Louisiana Workforce Commission's SBET Program

At this event, attendees will hear from Tamara Sabine of the Louisiana Workforce Commission about the Small Business Employer Training Program (SBET) and how companies can utilize this resource. Following the presentation, Sabine will host a Q&A session with attendees.

About the SBET Program

The Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP) through the Louisiana Workforce Commission is designed to help small businesses upgrade the job skills of their employees, improve retention and advancement and create jobs in high-demand occupations. The program is funded through Unemployment Insurance taxes and awarded over $449 million to businesses to train over 815,730 employees since its inception in 1999.

About the Speaker

Tamara Sabine, Program Advisor, is responsible for assisting small businesses navigate the application and invoice processes of the program. While she has only been in IWTP for 14 months, she’s a favorite of small businesses and training providers alike with her breadth of knowledge and customer service. Tamara is originally from Baton Rouge, resides in Port Allen, is married to local attorney/television personality A.J. Sabine and is the mother of three (3): AJ (17), Lauren (15) and Oliver (13). She earned her B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
